I have participated in Uzma Sharaf’s spiritual deveopment program for several years, teaching both Muslims and non-Muslims. Personally, one of the challenges I faced was finding someone I trusted to support me through my spiritual journey. Uzma provided the objectivity, professionalism, and insight that allowed me the freedom to learn and grow, she was able to guide me in a non-judgmental, organized, and well-researched manner. As an education specialist, I was impressed with her ability to teach, communicate, and effectively differentiate individuals from different cultures, ethnicities, and religions. I would highly recommend Uzma to guide individuals, or groups through a rigorous and worthwhile spiritual journey
Before I started sessions with Uzma, I frequently felt empty and dark. I was used to projecting and showing it to my peers, unable to manage negative emotions. Part of me wanted to fight these emotions but I didn't know how and I knew I needed assistance. After enrolling I have noticed a positive change and I have made very good progress in maintaining my negative emotions
Really love this course so far, the info is in-depth and the teacher really gets you interested in the topics. As a new revert to Islam, this is a good course for me, as it helps me to learn more of the different fiqhs, including Sufism which is not talked about as much in popular media or Muslim communities. I especially love the historical information on women in Islam and the female mystics.
I have only just begun but the instructor seems very knowledgeable and personable and I very much appreciate and am interested in egalitarian feminism in Islam as well as Sufism -- which I feel I identify closely with, but need to learn more about to really have a true grasp of understanding. Thank you for the course.
